Saturday, January 19, 2008, at the Teatro Pergolesi di Jesi There will be a show called "the persecutor - In memory of Charlie Parker" with Propolizio Massimo (reciting voice) Enrico Rava (trumpet) and Andrea Pozza (piano). The play is based on the story by Julio Cortázar.

Notes to the show

"An evening that aims to offer the magic of the encounter between literature and music. An event that has as its protagonists a great actor and a great jazz musician to recreate the atmosphere evoked by extraordinary pages on a mythical character as extraordinary and as Charlie Parker . The relationship between reading and reading musical actor to get the performance of a score that expresses his best of the opportunities and hidden subtexts in the work literature. As for the time control Cortázar, music lover, a lover of jazz, is an absolute precision giving the rhythm of the prose a fundamental part of his narrative. And in this particular case the writing is developed and built as the rhythms of jazz.

"Homage to the world of jazz and its creative obsessions" the persecutor is not only a biographical story in narrative form, but question sull'irriducibile otherness of artistic genius. Cortázar said he had long sought the hero of this long-short-story and have it recognized, in the end, in the biography of Charlie Parker: " An individual who, while endowed with enormous insight, is very ignorant, very primitive. A character who does not think. A man who has no thoughts, only feelings, which, in its music, its love, its vice, its misery, always and everywhere, that does not act at the level of feelings .

"The tragic figure in" The Bird "is a shade to the many faces of Cortázar, whose work in this story is a turning point from the rarefied atmosphere of the fantastic, the comparison" existential "with each other, that always and everywhere, is similar. "
