"Cut with Palle Danielsson and Jon Christensen ( The Pilgrim and the Stars - 1975, Ed) was not my idea, but a proposed by Manfred Eicher. I accepted because I liked a lot, I had listened to Keith Jarrett and Jan Garbarek. They were very strong, though apparently did not correspond to the vision of the rhythm that I had at the time, because I was thinking of a rhythmic black poor. Maybe I had made the wrong idea. Jon playing with balls and I realized how they were different. Jon was a very visceral drummer and together they had the ability to continually create new situations, to give and respond to stress. They were responsive, close to my way of thinking about music. "
